Day 01: Australia / Beijing
Depart on your morning flight bound for Beijing, capital of the People's Republic of China. Upon your arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.
Day 02: Beijing (B.L.D)
Your day will begin at Tiananmen Square, which is the largest square in the world. Next continue to the magnificent Forbidden City, home to emperors for over 500-years. In the afternoon visit the picturesque Temple of Heaven, built in 1420, where emperors of Ming and Qing would perform rituals essential to the well being of the country, praying to Heaven for good harvests. Enjoy an Acrobatic show in the evening.
Day 03: Beijing (B.L.Dinner Special)
A full-day tour will take in the grandeur of The Eighth Wonder of the World, the Great Wall, built more than 2000 years ago to protect China from northern invaders. On the way back to Beijing stop and visit the sacred way, which towards the emperors’ tombs. On your way back to the city, you will have a chance to spot the 2008 Beijing Olympic stadium. This evening, you are invited to a Peking duck banquet.
Day 04: Beijing (B.L)
In the morning you will leave for your Beijing Alleys Tour. Ride in three-wheeled rickshaws through Beijing's quaint alleys experiencing life as a Beijing local. In the afternoon, enjoy shopping and bargaining in the bustling alleys of the Silk Market, where you can pick up amazing bargains on famous brand clothing and silk.
Day 05: Beijing / Xian (B.L.D)
In this morning, you will be transferred to the airport for flight to Xian, the city known as one of the seven ancient capitals of China. Upon arrival, visit the Big Goose Pagoda and City Wall built in Ming Dynasty.
Day 06: Xian (B.L.Dinner show)
A full day excursion to the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang guarded by the famous Terracotta Army, 7000 life-size clay statues each individually crafted, complete with chariots and horses. After Lunch visit the Muslim Markets and Mosque. Here you will be able to purchase all sorts of curios and artifacts. In the evening, you will attend a dinner performance of Tang era music and dance at the grand Tang Theatre.
Day 07: Xian / Xining / Lhasa (B.L.D)
In the morning, you will fly to Xining, the capital city of Qinghai Province. Drive to Kumbum Monastery of Gelukpa-sect, which was built in 1560 in Huangzhong county and also one of the six grand monasteries in Tibet. Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Lamaistic Yellow Hat Sect was born here. As Kumbum-monastery has always been playing an important role to connect the Mongolian with the Lamaism, today many Mongolian with the Lamaism, today many Mongolian come to this place for worship. In the afternoon drive back to Xining. After dinner transfer to railway station, board your overnight soft-sleeper train to Lhasa (due to the tight reservation, the train tickets might downgrade to hard-sleeper compartment) and start the exciting adventurous journey to the holy Tibet.
Day 08: Lhasa
Whole day train ride takes you going through the breathtaking sceneries on Qinghai & Tibet Highland. Arrive in Lhasa in this evening. Met at the railway station and transferred to your hotel.
Day 09: Lhasa (B.L.D)
Your day will begin at the world famous Potala Palace, which is located on 'Red Hill', to the west of old Lhasa. It was originally built in the 640's, during the reign of King Songtsan Gampo. Potala Palace was listed as a cultural relic under the special protection of the state. Then continue to visit Jokhang Temple. It was built by craftsmen from Tibet, China and Nepal and thus features different architectural styles. In the afternoon, you will have a chance to stroll on Barkhor Street. The Barkhor is found in the heart of Lhasa circling the Jokhang Temple. It means 'a pilgrim's inner circuit', and is the earliest street of old Lhasa city.
Day 10: Lhasa (B.L.D)
Drepung Monastery tour will be arranged today, it was the largest and richest of the three major Yellow Sect monasteries in Lhasa, and also it is one of the largest monasteries in the world. After lunch, you will begin to visit Sera Monastery. Sera means 'Hailstone' in Tibetan, and legend tells that it hailed during the foundation of this famous monastery. On to visit 'Jeweled Garden', Norbulingka Park, from the mid 18th century, each successive Dalai Lama moved to the park during the summer season, and carried out all their religious and political affairs from there.
Day 11: Lhasa / Gyantze (B.L.D)
Drive to Gyantze, the once fortified city at the junction of two major caravan routes: one to India and the other to Nepal. Pass the giant Yamdrok Yamtso Lake, the holy lake of the Tibetan people. Upon arrival, check into the local best Gyantze Hotel.
Day 12: Gyantze / Shigatse (B.L.D)
In the morning, you will visit Palkhor Monastery and the ten-thousand-Buddhist Pagoda. Then take a coach to Shigatse. Check into the local best Shigatse Hotel.
Day 13: Shigatse / Lhasa (B.L.D)
After breakfast, you will visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, traditional seat of the Panchen Lama who is the second holiest man in Tibet. Then drive back to Lhasa and arrive by late afternoon.
Day 14: Lhasa / Shanghai (B)
Take a domestic flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 15: Shanghai (B, L, D)
Today’s tour will bring to visit the magnificent Yu Garden, Bund Area, former French Concession area and Nanjing Road, known as No. 1 Shopping paradise of China. You will get a chance to see the newly developed Pudong area and comprehend the great achievements after China started the Reform & Opening-up policy since 1980’s. You will get the opportunity to visit one of the highest landmark buildings in Shanghai, the Oriental Pearl Tower or Jinmao Tower to enjoy a panoramic bird view upon this energetic city.
Day 16: Shanghai / Suzhou / Shanghai (B, L, D)
Travel to Suzhou, the Oriental Venice. Upon arrival, visit Lingering In Garden, Tiger Hill Scenic Resort and observe the interesting silk manufacture process during a traditional China silk factory visit. Later in the afternoon, transfer back to hotel in Shanghai.
Day 17: Shanghai / Australia (B)
Today you will be transferred to the airport by the Maglev bullet train and board your homebound flight.
Day 18: Australia Arrival
Arriving in Australia in the morning. Bringing back home dozens of your enjoyable memories.
